Tab 9
Update Log
The shortest tab in the folder, and the one you will touch the least. Its job is to tell whoever opens your folder how current it is.
A folder last updated two months ago is trusted. One untouched in three years gets viewed with more caution. This log answers that question honestly, and it fills itself in as you work.
Freshness
Nothing recorded yet. As soon as you write anything in any tab, a line appears here.
The log
Written automatically as you work. It records that something changed and when, never what you wrote. Entries cannot be edited or removed, including by you: a log that can be rewritten tells a reader nothing.
Empty for now.
Annual attestation
Once a year, confirm the folder still reflects your current wishes. Optional, and one of the highest-trust signals you can leave for whoever opens it.
As of today, this folder reflects my current wishes and information to the best of my knowledge.
This adds a permanent, dated line to the log above. It cannot be undone.
Your own notes
Anything the automatic log does not capture. A conversation you had about the folder, a document you signed, a review you did with a family member.
Keep it general, the same way the automatic entries are. This page may be read by anyone holding the folder.
This tab keeps itself. There is nothing here you need to fill in. It will be waiting when the rest of the folder is done.
